GOD OFFERS HOPE
The
loss of an infant is one of life’s greatest heartbreaks. When the hopes and dreams for your child have been shattered by
premature death, the pain is so great. However, God’s Word brings hope, comfort and healing for this
difficult loss.
David,
who is described as a man after God’s own heart, agonized in prayer
when his young child was critically ill. Upon the death of his son, David found comfort in the knowledge
that he would one day be reunited with him. He expressed his hope and belief in II
Samuel 12:23 “I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to
me.”
There
is also comfort in knowing that God knows your child, loves your child,
and welcomes your child. Jeremiah 1:5 says “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Isaiah
49:16 assures us “I have engraved you on the palm of my hand.” In Mark
10:15 we find the words “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children
come to me for of such is the kingdom of heaven’.”
Psalm
145:17 tells us that “The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and
loving toward all he has made.” And in Romans 8:28 that “We know all
things work together for good.”
We
pray that you cling to the promise found in 1
Peter 1:3-4 “In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a
living hope…kept in heaven for you.” God bless you as you rest in the comfort that your child rests in
the hands of God. |
